Year of Wonder Woman

Day 1019: Cleon

A man of ancient Greece from the time before Greece had a name and the concept of nations even existed, Cleon was a marauder and leader of an army which would travel the lands pillaging and returning to their homeland with their spoils. Warring to survive, Cleon was unknowingly favored by the god of war.


Ares assuming human form, took up the guise of Cleons second in command, pressing and urging him to grow his army and expand, increase his warring ways. Cleon did so, unaware that by becoming a greater threat, other peoples would begin doing the same in order to defend against him, raising the stakes and allowing for bloodier wars.


This escalation would catch up to Cleon when his fleet of ships sailed into an ambush. Decimated and with only a few vessels remaining, Cleons ship was shattered by a ramming vessel and he began to sink below the water...That is before he was rescued by Artemis, the original Wonder Woman!


Aiding the remainder of his fleet in escaping the trap by hauling them to safty, Artemis fled, watching from afar as they arrived back in their quiet villiage. Upon arriving Ares in the guise of Cleons second in command explained to Cleon that Amazons were a race of warrior women who ate the flesh of their enemies and drank their blood, killing any man they slept with. That they would only feel love for a man if he defeated them in battle, chained them and enslaved the Amazon to their will.


Ares words becoming the common view of the Amazons in the ancient world thanks to Ares efforts at negative PR, Cleon who had fallen in love with Artemis, sought to fight her and defeat her in the hopes of making her his.


Next, Ares would appear before the ancient Wonder Woman in his true form and when she challenged him, declaring him an enemy of the Amazons and mankind, Ares denied it, claiming he was not really a god of war but of human nature. Claiming he was not an enemy of Artemis and that the Amazons had lied to her, he offered to use his influence to ensure Cleon would cast aside his violent attitudes towards Artemis if she would champion his cause at Cleons side.


In the end Artemis accepted and when she next confronted Cleon, Eros who had been asked by Ares, snuck up on a rooftop and sniped Cleon who dropping his weapons, got down on his knees and proposed to Artemis, proclaiming his undying love.


Thus the two of them would become lovers hand in hand, with Cleon and Artemis jointly leading their growing army across the land and creating one of the worlds first empires. Theirs was a passionate love that was outlined with bloodshed and death.


One that was doomed to end tragically when Cleon betrayed Artemis thanks to Ares manipulation of them both, and led an armada to invade Thymiscira. Creating a betrayal of their relationship which led to Artemis cutting all ties with Cleon evermore.

Day 1020: Artemis

Amazon of Thymiscira, the ancient homeland of the Amazons which would be later abandoned in favor of Paradise Island, Artemis was friends with Hippolyta from their earliest day, the pair as close as sisters. Considered the two mightiest amongst the Amazons, the pair would often compete to prove which of them was the better.


One day the Amazons were visited by the goddess Athena who proclaimed that the Amazons must send one amongst their number out into the world in order to champion peace in the hopes of uplifting humanity. The mightiest of Amazons to face down war itself.


The contest soon turned into a one on one duel with Hippolyta and Artemis, the two of them competing until in the end, Artemis was the victor. And so it was, that Artemis became Wonder Woman!


However things would not go as Athena had hoped for Artemis would fall in love with Cleon and the two of them would go on to ravage the world. Slaughtering those who opposed them and carving up an empire hand in hand.


Things would change however when Artemis recieved word that the queen of the Amazons had passed. Word recieved from Cleons second in command. Not pausing to find out how that man knew of this, Artemis hurried back to the island, unaware that Cleon at the behest of his underling, followed after with a fleet in order to pillage the isle.


Upon arriving, Artemis was shocked to discover that Hippolyta had become the new queen of the Amazons and as the two were talking, Cleons fleet arrived and began attacking the Amazons.


Artemis was shocked and betrayed by Cleons actions but had sworn to stand by her love and thus she joined him in his efforts, leading to her trying to kill Hippolyta. The two Amazons dueled but the Amazonian queen recognizing Ares, attacked him, forcing the god to reveal his true form.


Artemis realizing that all of this was the manipulation of Ares, ceased her fighting and declaring Cleon a fraud, fled from the island for she realized Cleon was little more than a tool for Ares. Unaware that Cleon would go on to retreat from the isle, the loss of Artemis wounding him.


The original Wonder Woman would go on to travel the world. Killing and pillaging gluttonously in an effort to sate the ache of her broken heart with the criminal deeds which had become common place for her after those years with Cleon.


Cursing the Amazons. Cursing Hippolyta. Cursing the gods themselves, Artemis became convinced that all of her problems were the fault of none other than Athena. So journeying to Athenas temple with a sword crafted by Hephestus himself, Artemis challenged Athena, swearing she would take the goddesses head!


Thus the fight began!....With Athena pointing a golden scepter at Artemis which burned the flesh from her bones, killing Artemis on the spot and leaving nothing more than a skeleton in a Wonder Woman outfit, a full head of hair, and a sword that could even harm a god.


For thousands of years the remains of Artemis would rest until a certain woman with a penchant for magic and an obsession with a more recent champion of the Amazons arrived in that temple. Enchanting the sword with the power to bring life, the remains of Artemis the original Wonder Woman rose.


Thus Artemis restored to life though now a living skeleton, recognized the one who revived her as her mistress. For this mysterious woman explained 'the truth' that it wasn't Athena to blame for all of Artemis's misfortunes, it was Hippolyta! And only by slaying Hippolyta would her death be avenged!


So being instructed as to where the Amazons now lived, secrets of the isle known to none outside of Paradise Island. And the existence of Diana, the current Wonder Woman. So walking along the ocean floor, dragged down by the sword which gave her life, Artemis journeyed to Paradise Island and sighting Diana relaxing on a cliff, caught her by surprised and dragged her beneath the ocean.


The two would fight but with Artemis unable to tire and posessing such incredible strength, she was able to render Diana unconcious and take her to the secret catacombs beneath the island.


For Paradise Island was not simply an isle paradise. It was in fact the gateway to the realm of Hades. Behind fearsome gates deep beneath the isle rested the most dangerous monsters the world had ever known. Trapped in the afterlife, the only thing that kept them from returning to the world was those doors which would magically remain sealed so long as the island remained a paradise.


Dragging Diana to the door and binding her with the chains which kept it shut, Artemis returned above to the island to do battle with the Amazons in the effort to take Hippolytas life, convinced that this would somehow fix everything.


But Diana regaining conciousness, realized where she was and how she was bound so using her strength, she pulled back against the chains, aware that a number of monsters on the opposite side of the gate were pulling on those very chains trying to shatter them. And giving herself enough slack, Diana lept free of the chains and hurried above.


Hippolyta defending herself but refusing to fight Artemis, tried to reason with her old friend. The other Amazons looking on in horror but ordered by their queen not to interfere.


Artemis however would not be swayed and attempted to strike her down, only for Diana to arrive and lassoing the sword in Artemis' hand, pulled it away. Artemis having her very existence tied to that sword began to panic and abandoning her efforts to kill Hippolyta, she chased after the sword.


Diana seeing this, called her invisible jet, tossed the sword into it, and had the plane fly into space. The distance causing Artemis to die once again. Her bones turning to ash. Thus was the final end of the original Wonder Woman.

Day 1021: Zenna Persik
Romani child whose mother survived the holocaust a lone orphan, Zenna was a self styled vigilante determined to hunt down a monster which had plagued her family for generations. One she would not rest until she had met vengeance upon.

Possessing powerful psychic abilities which are inherited through her family line, Zenna had the ability to create blazing infernos with a thought. Move things with her mind. And the ability to replace her mind with anothers, taking over their body but having their own consciousness possess her own.

Zenna grew up to the harrowing stories her mother would tell of her ordeal. Of watching as her parents and brothers were taken one at a time by the nazi scientist known as 'The Knife' never to be seen again.

It wouldn't be until one day her little brother was taken that Zenna began to suspect that the monster which haunted her mother might still exist. As Romani children were snatched up one by one, Zenna sought to rescue her brother and slay the monster. Finding a psychic with the power of precognition, Zenna hunted down the Knife and attempted to end his life, only to be stopped by the Black Canary who didn't realize the old man was a sadistic psychopath.

At the Justice League satellite, Zenna told her story to Black Canary and Wonder Woman, leading to the three women raiding the warehouse which the Knife was using as his base of operations. It was there that they discovered that the children that the Knife had kidnapped had their minds wiped clean. Every spot of identity and humanity erased from them. Leaving only mindless servants who did the knifes bidding.

Thus when ordered by the Knife to kill the heroes, the children attacked with mindless ferocity with no concern for their own safty. Dinah, Diana, and Zenna refusing to harm the children, avoided them, making a bee line for the Knife who was creating a psychic shield around the machine he used to siphon the minds from children.

Wonder Woman despite the Knifes best efforts however, began punching through it, causing the panicked nazi to teleport himself, Wonder Woman, and the machine away. But as he was doing so, Zenna determined to be the one to kill the Knife, swapped minds with Wonder Woman, only to be captured shortly after since she didn't know how to fight or use Wonder Womans abilities.

Diana though was able to sense the location of her magic lasso even in this new form and using the invisible jet, the two heroes were in pursuit, finding the Knife on a secret island where the United States kept a collection of nukes with which, the Knife intended to nuke the United States from their own doorstep, creating a thermonucler war which would pave the way for the nazis to reclaim power.

As the rocket launched, Wonder Woman lept upon it and riding the rocket, she turned it in midair, intending to detonate it in the ocean, sacrificing herself. However Zenna determined to end the knife, switched bodies yet again and using her psychic powers, she redirected the rocket to fly straight for the Knife. Destroying him and the machine, sacrificing herself in the process.

And thus the Knife was destroyed at last thanks to Zennas sacrifice.

Day 1022: Hector Michealson

Soldier for the United States military, Hector was appointed to work on the security detail for retired senator Russell Abernathy after word began to spread that the president was considering him for the position of United States arms negotiator.


Abernathy fervently denied this. The very notion bringing him into hysterics, for he loudly swore he would refuse any such position if offered to him after the terrible scandal that led to his retirement all those years ago!


The entire affair putting Russell into hysterics, the poor elderly man suffered a heart attack from the stress. Hector with him in an instant, rushed him into a military van so he could be rushed to the Walter Reed hospital.


However Russell Abernathy had accumulated quite a large number of enemies during his time in office and thus on the way to the hospital the caravan of security personnel were ambushed by American mercenaries carrying Russian weapons which they used to gun down many within the security detail.


However before Hector and Abernathy could be gunned down, Wonder Woman arrived to capture the villains. Her magic lasso only revealing that they didn'r know who had hired them, Wonder Woman went off in search of answers, leaving Hector to keep Abernathy safe.

Day 1023: Howard Kohler

Formerly the aide of Russell Abernathys when the senator was chairing the foreign relations committee, after Abernathys retirement Kohler wound up working in the intelligence branch.


His work with Abernathy came to an end when the senators wife lying in criticial condition due to a terminal illness, led to the senator giving away American secrets to Russia in exchange for their medical expertise in helping to save his wife. This ended in failure however and the senator confessing to what he did, stepped down from his position, the truth behind his actions never publicly revealed.


Howard Kohler hating Abernathy for this, was outraged that the United States covered this up instead of nuking Russia. For he viewed them as an enemy that must be destroyed even at the cost of the world.


Years later after rising in the ranks as an intelligence officer, Howard hatched a plan to out Abernathy and turn the battle against Russia into open warfare. Using information acquired from government files, Kohler hired a group of mercenaries to disguise themselves as Russians and attempt to kill Abernathy.


Then using contacts in various news outlets he began leaking false stories about Abernathy being considered for a position in the presidents cabinet, putting attention on him. Had his plan worked, Abernathy would have died and it would have been blamed on Russia.


As it was, Wonder Woman thwarted those schemes and so he hired Nikos Aegus. The Greek terrorist since last meeting Wonder Woman had teleported to Olympus and meeting Ares, he struck a deal to serve the war god and was granted magic blades in the process which would obey his will and move at his command. Once someone was stabbed by one of those knives, only Nikos could remove them.


However Wonder Woman defeating Nikos, was able to expose the schemes of Howard Kohler and the two men were arrested for their crimes. However Wonder Woman was unaware that the government would turn around and release Nikos Aegus, offering him an unofficial job as a hitman for America.

Day 1024: Wendell and Mildred

An elderly married couple who happened to be huge fans of Wonder Woman, the two of them took a trip to Washington DC in order to see Wonder Woman and take pictures. Happening upon the totally legit and not a scam Wonder Woman tour, the two of them signed up to see their hero.


Thus the two of them would journey with the others in their group in a roofless tourist car with their driver and tour guide driving them to different parts of the city, where upon he would play a hidden recording of a jet engine and tell them to look up for there was the invisible jet, prompting much photographing of the sky!


Repeating this at multiple points of the trip, Wendell was ecstatic, though Mildred was more skeptical of the photos, pointing out that the jet was invisible so they were just wasting film.


But just as the tour was ending, luck would have it that Gremlins were stealing the invisible jet and were buzzing the street, threatening to hit the people below! Wonder Woman leaping upon the wing of the plane, forced her craft to elevate to safety, with the couple snapping photos eagerly as the plane climbed, with Wonder Woman working her way to the invisible door of the invisible jet to stop those mischievous malcontents!

Day 1025: Antiope

Amazon of Paradise Island, Antiope was Hippolytas dearest friend and closest advisor. The one whose judgment on all matters Hippolyta listened to most closely. The two of them being practically sisters after the betrayal of Artemis and the death of Astarte.


Often standing in opposition to the advice given by Paula Von Gunther, Antiope was vocally against letting outsiders onto the island and allowing people to train to become Amazons themselves. She felt that outsiders could not be trusted and was skeptical at the notion of redemption.


Valuing the barrier that separates Paradise Island from the outside world, Antiope personally created defenses that would allow the island to blow intruders to smithereens. However Hippolyta forbid them to ever be used, rankling Antiope who would often insist that any who found the island must be killed for the secret of its location should never be revealed. Bar the way. Let no one in, no one out. Abandon the outside world in its entirety and kill any who would learn their secret.


Thus so it was that Antiope would often advise Hippolyta to be more harsh and even cruel for the sake of the people. She would often argue that showing any sign of weakness simply invited attack by their enemies, and would prompt Hippolyta to act more aggressively.


However while Hippolyta would listen to Antiopes counsel in order to balance her more conciliatory approach, she refused any efforts to kill those who discovered the island nor bar the island from outsiders who were invited.

Day 1026: Bork

Commander of a platoon of orc-like aliens, Bork hailed from the 63rd century and was plotting to conquer the world which was renowned for having evolved past war and violence, becoming a true paradise across the universe.


While they were plotting how they would go about conquering the Earth, they were visited by Ares the god of war who directed them to seek out Paradise Island to conquer and use as their beach head. An isle unknown to most of the world which they could operate from and plot in secret.


For Ares having been spying on the Amazons for eons, discovered that they were planning to lower the barrier seperating their island from the rest of the world. For the Earth having truly become a paradise, was as far as mankind was able to develop on its own and only by integrating with society once more and giving the Earth that one last push could it become a true paradise.


For humanity had managed to go thousands of years without war. Unified and became a utopia where eternal life was realized and illness had been ended. Though at the cost of Wonder Woman herself who perished a few short centuries ago in space.


Ares directing Borks forces, had the aliens invade mere moments after the shield was lowered and the aliens invaded, conquering the island and imprisoning the Amazons.


Diana in the present day having a terrible nightmare of these events, thought it was happening right then and there so changing, she used the magic lassos commonly known ability to create magical gateways to wherever Wonder Woman desired by spinning it before her and jumping through to arrive at the island, unaware that through Aphrodites blessing she was traveling into the distant future.


discovering the aliens, Diana fought her way through the horde, freed the Amazons, and captured their commander Bork, using her magic lasso to force his surrender. Then forcing the aliens to leave, she declared that she would ensure the Earth as a whole knew of the aliens plot to conquer the world and Bork certain that he would fail should Earth see him coming, fled never to be seen again.


As for the Amazons, the whole event led to Hippolyta declaring that the world beyond the islands shores was beyond hope and she intended to close their borders forever more. However Aphrodite appearing before the Amazons, denied them this and told them that they had sworn an oath and they must aid the Earth as Diana once did.


And thus Wonder Woman was returned to her own time, the Amazons of the future going on into the world to aid it further.

Day 1027: Glitch
Real name L:fh'gsftbyyf#d, Glitch is 206 years old and from an alien race known as Gremlins. Tiny diminutive beings who compared to humans stood halfway to their knees, the Gremlins as a race were renowned for their skills with machinery, having developed as a people after a spacecraft crash landed on their planet, leading to them reverse engineering its technology to quickly advance their species thousands of years technologically.

Later to be conquered by an alien race known as the Ytirflirks, a species of hulking twenty foot tall warriors who upon adulthood cybernetically enhance themselves to improve their skills in combat, the Gremlins were forced to aid the Ytirflirks in their effort at conquering the universe through war. For the Ytirflirks were lacking in terms of technological ability, and thus would rely on individuals of other species to aid them in that respect.

Glitch and many of his fellow Gremlins suffering under the rule of the Ytirflirks tyrranical rule plotted to escape and when the Ytirflirks all beamed down to an alien planet with the intention of conquering it, Glitch and his fellows hotwired the battleship they were imprisoned upon and made their escape!

However being untrained in piloting, the Gremlins wound up crash landing their spacecraft on Earth in the middle of Russia seventy five years ago. In an effort to repair the vessel and make their escape, the Gremlins took to stealing parts from aircraft and other technological devices in order to repair their spacecraft which after twenty years of effort took to the skies.

Though the ship could not manage to leave the planet, they were able to cloak its presence and with it sitting in the sky, they began taking to stealing aircraft and flying it to their invisible ship where they would strip it down, cannibalizing the parts for their craft.

This would go on for years until almost finished, they just needed a few more parts. Thus Glitch traveling the world, found the invisible plane which he took on a joy ride before flying back to the ship.

Wonder Woman not appreciating this, went in pursuit and discovering the vessell with the help of Steve Trevor, proceeded to fight a group of robots modeled after Ytirflirks which were really just a bunch of Gremlins in a giant overcoat.

With the spacecraft leaving the planets atmosphere, Wonder Woman caught Glitch and made him uncanibalize the invisible jet, repairing it, with Glitch coming along back to Earth with the two of them.

Glitch remaining an ally of Wonder Womans, would become close friends with Steve Trevor. Revealing the ability to turn invisible and be seen only by those he chooses to let himself be seen by, Glitch was useful as a spy and unknown ally in the face of danger.

But where he really shined was in engineering as working on the invisible jet, he made it sentient, telepathic, and capable of handling a conversation. Wonder Woman would command the invisible jet to answer to Steve as well, thus meaning Steve could take the jet out on missions and would be aided by Glitch whenever things got tough.

Day 1027: Keith Griggs
Major in the United States airforce who wound up being transferred to Darnells intelligence branch within the pentagon after being hand picked, Keith Griggs is a talented pilot who displayed a talent for the art of espionage and sniffing out spies.

Viewed by Darnell as 'a second Steve Trevor' Keith was a talented military officer who was considered the perfect example of what Philip Darnell wanted. Sincerely wanting to do the right thing and help others, Keith lacked any material motive whatsoever....Save for one.

For recognizing Diana Prince to be a gifted individual both intellectually and physically, Keith had fallen in love with Diana, creating a curious love triangle between Keith, Steve, and Diana where one man was interested in Wonder Woman and the other in Diana Prince with neither aware that they were the same person.

Despite that though, Steve Trevor despised Keith Griggs with every fiber of his being. For Philip Darnell in an effort to punish Steve for letting Wonder Woman come first over the mission, would come to treat Keith as his best officer. Sending him on choice missions requiring the best of ones abilities. While leaving Steve completely in the dark, only finding out information after the fact from Etta Candy.

Keith not trying to get on Steves bad side since he was simply trying to do his job would try to reach out to Steve, though the former golden boy had to much of a chip on his shoulder over the situation to recognize that Keith Griggs was not at fault.

And so it was that the talented officer would go on missions with Diana Prince, go undercover in hostile nations, and check up on curious events occurring in the Caribbean.....

Day 1028: Mick Maccurtain

Assigned with Keith Griggs on the military assignment in the Caribbean, Mick and Keith were given the mission of investigating a serious of mysterious disappearances on various isles in the region.


Mick meeting Keith there as he had been stationed in the area, the two of them pinpointed it to a supposedly deserted isle and journeyed to it in order to ascertain the cause.


Upon arriving, the two of them journied into the island but shortly after leaving the beach they were suddenly confronted by a large group of beast people who attempted to capture them!


Trying and failing to fight them off, Mick and Keith fled from the assembled animal people. Along the way passing by animals with the faces of humans. Half human hybrids who looked like they were in the process of transforming. And so so many pigs.


Reaching the beach just as they were about to escape, Maccurtain overcome by a mysterious enchantment turned into a black panther and leaping at Keith, the beast pins him down, capturing him!


Soon met by the sorceress who was several thousand miles from home, Keith Griggs was turned into as the sorceress explained. "The animal within your soul. A lusty goat." And thus transformed, Keith Griggs became an animal man enthralled to the sorceress by her power.

Day 1029: Senator Covington

United States senator whose in fierce opposition to financial waste. Senator Covington in the name of reducing redundancy has made it her mission to cut down on the number of spy agencies which are currently active in the United States.


And thus her focus being on the most publicly known of those agencies, Senator Covington called Philip Darnell for a hearing to hear his argument, for Covington intended to drag his name in the mud and argue that his intellegence agency was redundant.


Despite Darnells efforts to defend his branch of the intelligence sector and point out how complex things have gotten, Covington argued that nothing Darnells office did couldn;t be covered by similar agencies such as air force intelligence, the CIA, the DIA, and the NSA.


Darnell then tries to point out that his branch focuses on dealing with problems in their earliest stages and that with the way politics currently are it was impossible for any one agency to mannage the complexities of the world with but a single organization.


Covington then accused Darnell and his fellow agency heads of creating these issues in order to maintain their existence which caused Darnell to lose his cool and shout back, with the press editing the footage of the hearing to make Darnell sound like a raving loon.


Thus Senator Covington began her efforts to destroy Darnells life.

Day 1030: Howard Huckaby

Aide for Senator Covington, Howard was a graduate from Yale with a major in classic literature. Getting into politics, Howard worked his way through the echelons until he attained his position and would be entrusted with all sorts of secret directives.


And thus Howard was ordered to spy upon the offices of Darnells intelligence agency. His mission: To uncover what connection if any there was between Philip Darnells agency, and Wonder Woman!


Thus Howard began spying upon them. His project going on for weeks until...He just couldn't help but make a move! For discovering the most enchanting beauty amongst Darnells employees. A woman who Howard was certain beyond a shadow of a doubt could be none other than Wonder Woman.


That talented figure who had unknowingly stolen Howards heart was none other...Than Etta Candy. INDEED! She was never around at the same place as Wonder Woman. She was the picture of beauty. And she was amazing.


So approaching Etta, Howard asked her out and the two began to date, and the two really began hitting it off. Howard was straight forward that he worked for Covington and said his mission was to sniff out any signs of misconduct from Darnells office, not mentioning the part about Wonder Woman. And Etta fell for him in turn though she was careful not to mention anything regarding her work on their little dates.

Day 1031: Brad Covington

The senator out to ruin Philip Darnells career in the name of downsizing redundancy with the dozen or so intelligence agencies, Brad came into existence when the writers changed hands and someone gender swapped Senator Covington, not realizing that she was a woman.


Married to a woman named Mona, Brad made it into his position by romancing powerful and wealthy women and having affairs with them in exchange for their support in funding his campaign and destroying his rivals. In exchange his entire political viewpoint is built around the wishes of those who keep him propped up.


The leader of a band of mercenaries wants the United States to hire more mercenaries? Brad Covington will push it through congress! A seedy crime boss doesn't like the IRS snooping in on her financial information? He will ruin their lives and destroy their career!


Thus thanks to his talent at using his masculine wiles and to charm his way into getting what he wants, manipulating others to support his efforts and doing them favors to remain in their good graces, Brad Covington became a thorn in the side of Phillip Darnell as one of his 'supporters' demanded that Brad destroy Darnells career and to ruin his reputation.

Day 1032: Lisa Abernathy

Daughter of retired senator Russell Abernathy, Lisa Abernathy had left for Brittain to become a television reporter for the BBC news, returning to the states when her father suffered a heart attack.


Concerned for his well being, Lisa took upon herself to take care of him and proceeded to move her entire life in an effort to be with him. Quitting her job at the BBC, she sold her house and moved to Washington DC, taking up the bottom floor apartment of the building Abernathy was renting to Diana Prince and Etta Candy.


Getting her daughter Eloise whom she raised by herself enrolled in the local school, Lisa proceeded to find a job with the local newspaper, her job being specifically to focus on political news which would take her through the pentagon, congress, and even the white house.


Her father using connections garnered from his decades in politics called in a few favors, made a few introductions and soon Lisa was granted leeway to go wherever she wished and question virtually anyone in the name of a scoop.


Taking care of her father and raising her daughter, Lisa rather had her hands full but thankfully she had a close friend in the form of Etta Candy who could be counted on to help however she could. And Diana Prince who became fast friends with Eloise for her startling ability to get Wonder Womans autograph for the wee child who was a huge fan of the Amazonian princess.


However Brad Covington seeing the access Lisa had in political circles, began making attempts to woo her, soon taking her out on dates and whispering sweet nothings in her ears in the hopes of gathering information in order to destroy Philip Darnell, attempting to use her against them.


Thinking he was simply interested in her, Lisa went along with it, providing him with information and helping him to get into restricted areas he had no business being in. That is until she realized he merely saw her as just a pawn and proceeded to dump him, threatening to ruin his life with the information she discovered about him if he tried involving himself with her own life ever again.

Day 1033: Circe (Earth-1)

Powerful immortal sorceress with a penchant for transforming people into animals and a reputation involving pigs, Circe was of Greek origin and possessed magical powers far beyond the scope or understanding of those not versed in its usage.


However a prophecy was revealed to Circe. One which revealed that she was destined to die at the hands of Diana, princess of the Amazons for whom she was their champion the 'Wonder Woman' with the use of fire. Reacting to this news with a great deal of concern, Circe retreated, fleeing the Mediterranean and heading southeast, claiming an island in the Caribbean as her own.


Spending the next few thousand years in the area, Circe took on a lover who preferred the form of a jaguar and remained at her side, the two possessing a great deal of similarities.


Circes power of transformation didn't allow her to change people into whatever she wished. Instead it would bring out 'their inner animal' transforming them into the animal which was in their hearts or for the lack of a better descriptor, a 'furry'. These individuals would be slaves to Circes will.


Even were she to restore them to human form they would serve her will and thus through this, Circe would begin consolidating power and eventually had agents and minions all across the world. Picking up those of influence who stayed in the Caribbean, she would make a point of having her minions direct them to her island, building her power and influence as she worked to fight fate itself.


Attacking first from a distance, Circe sizing Wonder Woman up, would activate agents in the country, turning them into their forms of a Minotaur and a falcon man to go after Wonder Woman and attempt to end her. However both of them failed in the effort, forcing Circe to work to further grow her strength.


Confident at last that she was as prepared as she could be, Circe began leaking news of her existence and captured one of the people who worked with Diana. Thus Wonder Woman would arrive and Diana attempted to slay her using her army of beasts only for Diana to overcome them. But in the struggle, a brazier got knocked over and the jungle began to catch fire.


Circe panicking, was so afraid of the prophecy that she just sat there, letting herself be consumed by the fire until nothing was left. Leaving her lover to leave his jaguar form and reveal himself to be Tezcatlipoca.

Day 1034: Etta Candy (Earth-1)

Best friend of Diana Prince, Etta Candy was a college graduate who enlisting in the military, attained the rank of lieutenant and became the secretary for Diana Prince whom she would wind up splitting the rent on an apartment together with.


Prone to fainting or freezing up at the sign of danger. Focused on losing weight and watching her diet. Good with children and always ready to lend a kind ear to those in need. This was an Etta Candy lacking alot of the punch and incredible ability of her golden age counterpart but still having that essential element deep down inside.


Which came in handy because an asshat who was Monitoring things discovered Howard Huckabys theory about Etta Candy being Wonder Woman and taking it as gospel, he began outfitting various Wonder Woman rogues with new weapons and the revelation as to 'Wonder Womans secret identity'


And thus Etta Candy while out on a date with Howard was attacked by the combined might of Doctor Psycho, Captain Wonder, Silver Swan, Deborah Domaine Cheetah, and the Angleman!


The combined might of that rogues gallery leading to the defeat of Etta and Howard who were dragged to the villains hideout in the aviation museum, the villains began to argue and fight amongst themselves over who would get to finish her off. Not noticing that Etta had regained consciousness, freed herself, and began exploring their hideout.


While doing so, she discovered the machine Doctor Psycho used to create Captain Wonder which had been modified by the villains benefactor. Figuring out how it worked and using it on herself, Etta Candy transformed becoming...Wonder Etta! Now posessing the powers of Wonder Woman, Etta Candy proceeded to lay into those villains, defeating the lot of them single handed!


And thus the adventures of Wonder Etta began.

Day 1035: Hermia
Psychic receptionist of the Amazons, Hermia was an Amazon of Paradise Island who was charged with tending to the mental radios. As skilled in both mental and physical abilities as any Amazon, Hermia would swear by Hermes that she would not fail in her endevors.

With all Amazons blessed with such communication devices and allies from other secret nations also in possession of mental radios, there became a need to have a central hub for general psychic messages to be relayed to and forwarded.

Thus Hermia taking up that responsibility would act as a combination of receptionist charged with forwarding telepathic calls to those who needed to hear them, and taking down messages and relaying information in situations where there was no time for a lengthy call.

Day 1036: Tezcatlipoca

The mad god. The mocker. The lover of sorcery.The Jaguar lord. The master of the smoky mirror. Tezcatlipoca was an Aztec god of incredible power which dwarfed even that of Circe the great sorceress.


Forseeing a future of destruction and red skies, Tezcatlipoca seeks to drive the world mad for in madness the world will be safe from disasters to come. Existing beyond the scope of space or even time, Tezcatlipoca is capable of creating worlds born from madness which grow larger and more enthralling with every mad soul who sacrifices their mind to his name.


Having seen time backward and forward Tezcatlipoca foresaw that Wonder Woman would stop his plans, and worked to fabricate a prophecy for Circes destruction thousands of years ago to create an enemy to oppose Wonder Woman. Then romancing her, Tezcatlipoca took on the form of a jaguar and romanced her until on the moment of her confrontation with Wonder Woman, Tezcatlipoca caused a fire and created illusions of Circe burning alive to drive her mad so he might steal away her spirit to inhabit his realm of madness with him beyond the scope of time itself.


Possessing mystical mirrors made from smoky obsidian, Tezcatlipoca was able to 'reveal ones false self' obscuring people with the form they present to the world. Or creating illusions of peoples greatest fears, insecurities, and maddened nightmares. Which Tezcatlipoca would gleefully use to prey on people, claiming them to be the victims desires rather than their disgusts.


Thus Tezcatlipoca turning his smoky mirrors on the island, restored those cursed by Circe from their true inner animal selves to the human forms they had before. And Wonder Woman became Diana Prince, but without any of her Amazonian abilities. Now in the form she presents to the world.


With Diana robbed of her powers, Tezcatlipoca consumed the entire island, casting it into his world of madness. Diana Prince finding Keith Griggs, soon got their bearings and the two intelligence agents teamed up to defeat the Aztec god who by his own boasting, was creating a war in central America which would spawn madness across the globe, plunging the whole world into utter madness which he could then pull into his own domain.


So it was Diana would travel that mad Aztec inspired world, attempt to defeat Tezcatlipoca, deal with his army of stone statues. And do battle with the Amazons.....

Day 1037: Maia

Amazon of the Amazon jungle, Maia is one of the 'Children of Atalanta' a band of Amazons who leaving Paradise Island, resettled on the South American continent where they built a prosperous secret city which men were permitted to enter.


Maia and several of her fellow Amazons were captured in the illusions and trickery of the Aztec god Tezcatlipoca who bound them to his service by caging a majestic golden eagle. The symbol of the Amazons and with his power he imprisoned their spirits within that very cage thanks to sympathetic magic.


Thus with an army of powerful Amazons with powers resembling Wonder Womans, Tezcatlipoca had an incredible force at his beck and call who would guard his realm of madness, the mad god was confident that Diana Prince would soon fall, for nothing could prevent his efforts to bring about world war 3 and the madness that such an event would bring!


However Diana despite having lost her powers once more, still had incredible skill thanks to the unparalleled Amazonian training she received growing up and the muscle memory of being taught every martial art in the world by I-Ching.


So working with Keith Griggs, Diana managed to fight her way into the giant majestic temple of Tezcatlipoca, distracting the Amazons through a combination of bluff and deft use of their own strength against them to escape into the temple, collapsing one of the monstrous stone golems into the doorway to buy them time as they journeyed within to confront Tezcatlipoca!


The two becoming separated by the gods efforts, Diana confronted the mad god who showing her illusions, tried to convince her that she was in truth evil and didn't believe in any of the things she championed. That deep down, she would be better served in a realm of madness.


Meanwhile Griggs caught in a maze of smoky mirrors similar to what Diana was dealing with, grew frustrated and began shooting at the mirrors blindly. The sound of shattering obsidian drawing Diana out of the spell Tezcatlipoca was weaving in an attempt to enslave her.


Spying the golden eagle, Diana grabbed the cage and freed it, along with the Amazons which had been enslaved by Tezcatlipocas will! The eagle spying Tezcatlipoca lunged at the god in an effort to eat out his liver while Diana went in search of Keith for fear that he was in trouble.


Along the way, she discovered an idol of Tezcatlipoca tied to a figure of a man and suspecting it to be something tying Tezcatlipoca to a mortal, Diana proceeded to destroy it. The shattered connection causing Diana, Kieth Griggs, the golden eagle, and the Amazons to be flung from the realm of madness as the connection was broken. Followed by the mad laughter of Tezcatlipoca who declared that they would regret that in the times to come.

Day 1038: Chocolate Baron

A lover of chocolate who wished to keep it all for himself, the Chocolate Baron was a criminal fiend who wanted to monopolize the worlds supply and keep it for himself! Stealing chocolate from all over the world, the Chocolate Baron stored it in the secret underground chocolate vault beneath his chocolate castle within the chocolate barony (which was not made of chocolate.)

Wonder Woman catching wise to the Chocolate Barons scheme headed for his chocolate castle in her invisible jet and heading in, she was met by the Chocolate Baron and his men who began firing upon Wonder Woman!

Naturally Diana deflected the bullets with ease but was having trouble getting them to stop firing bullets at her. Thus knowing 'No one could resist this chocolate treat' Wonder Woman threw at the Chocolate Baron and his men Hostess chocolate cupcakes!

Seeing the irresistible Hostess confections, the Chocolate Baron and his men all dropped their guns and began eating the Hostess chocolate cupcakes allowing Wonder Woman to lasso the lot of them, carry them back to her invisible jet and fly them to jail!

And on the flight the Chocolate Baron still bound by the magic lasso, declared Hostess chocolate cupcakes to be the treat that can't be beat!

Day 1039: Atalanta

One of the original Amazons hailing from the island of Thymiscira. Atalanta like the others escaped the clutches of Hercules and followed Aphrodites guidance to Paradise Island. However upon arriving the Amazons were bidden to guard the gate to Tartarus and were forbidden to ever leave and to let no man on the island.


While Hippolyta saw this as penance for her failure of being tricked by Hercules and obeyed Aphrodites words religiously, Atalanta was convinced that this was a test by the goddess of love for she would expect the Amazons who loved the world to not cloister themselves away but to instead go out and try to make a difference.


Thus gathering scores of Amazons who agreed with her, Atalanta journeyed from the shores of Paradise Island traveling westward until she landed on the coast of south America. Following the Amazons river, Atalanta and her people found a crecent waterfall and going down it, they found a valley within the jungle, hidden from prying eyes.


This became the new city of these Amazons who would journey out to aid those in need but keep their identity a secret. Guarding the location of their new home, those Amazons who found love would invite their lovers to join them and thus it became a city of women who fought and protected the peace, and men who cooked and tended to the homes.


Generations would pass and any children of the Amazons who left the island while blessed with the strength of their ancestors, lacked the immortality that went with it. Thus a group of immortal elders watched on as the generations of their children aged, grew, and eventually died.


This group of Amazons would refer to themselves as 'The children of Atalanta' for their leader refusing to declare herself queen, instead viewed herself as the mother of her tribe.

And thus Atalantas Amazons prospered.


Thouh a rift would last between the two groups of Amazons for Atalanta and Hippolyta saw eachother as wrong in the opposites interpretation of Aphrodites words and were convinced that the other had doomed those who followed her because of it.


Meanwhile Aphrodite loving them both, did not take a side, considering them both to be doing as she willed, confounding the matter.

Day 1040: The Borrower

A criminal malcontent with a penchant for 'borrowing' things, his moniker being to leave I.O.U's behind at all of his crimes declaring what he had stolen and that he the borrower owed them said object.

two hundred and fifty million dollars from a bank. a 20 karat diamond bracelet. a line of minx coats. The Borrower was a nefarious fiend whose purloining ways were baffling police for the Borrower would escape long before they arrived.

Wonder Woman declaring she would catch this criminal nare do well proceeded to set a trap which the Borrower would be helpless to avoid! For Diana filled a bag full of Hostess twinkies and lie in wait, knowing that no one could resist the delicious taste of Hostess twinkies ~

Sure enough the Borrower arrived and grabbing the bag to escape, he was shocked to discover the contents, remarking on how he used to steal Hostess twinkies all the time in his youth.

While he is standing in place eating twinkies Wonder Woman lassos the Borrower. However he remains unfazed by the situation as he was able to continue eating Hostess twinkies to his hearts content.

Day 1041: Ariadne

Amazon of the Amazon, Ariadne is one of the Children of Atalanta. One of the latest generation of Amazons blessed with incredible strength but lacking immortality as well.


Raised like her fellow Amazons by the teachings of the first generation whose immortality made them into a living record of their peoples history, Ariadnes views were colored by the stories told to her by her elders.


Thus raised on stories about a cold hearted Hippolyta who closed her heart to all and the villainous Amazons of the island who barred their borders and rejected all, Ariadne and those of her generation were painted the picture of the island Amazons being great villains, with little knowledge as to their true nature as it was filtered through the lens of those who were looking back on bitter memories from thousands of years before any of them were born.


So when Diana rescued the children of Atalanta from enslavement by Tezcatlipoca thanks to her efforts in freeing the golden eagle which symbolized the Amazons themselves, Ariadne first thanked Diana and upon discovering she was the child of Hippolyta, she immediately tried to kill the princess of the Amazons!


However her efforts to spear Diana through were easily foiled by Wonder Woman and Ariadne was immediately confronted by Atalanta before anything else could occur. For their leader having left the island by her own choice and convinced that Hippolyta was misguided, held no ill will towards the queen of the Amazons and was baffled by this hostility.


When Atalanta asked Ariadne to explain however, Atalanta was at a loss, for it was such ancient history that she never imagined that her fellow first generation Amazons were passing on such a grudge to their descendants. Much less that it would turn into something so bitter.


Atalanta declared that Diana was proof that Hippolyta had accepted love and that there was no reason for grievances, sent Ariadne off, and took Diana to the crescent waterfall so they could talk. Thus Atalanta discovered Diana was born of clay, how things have been on the island, and revealed the history of herself and her fellow Amazons.


Atalanta thanking Diana for saving her people, assured Wonder Woman that she was always welcome in their city as one of their own, commenting on how Diana had found love as well.

Day 1042: Cooky La Moo

Actress of the silver screen, Cooky La Moo is a big name in Hollywood who could appear in anything and make it an instant success. Her fame known far and wide, Cooky La Moo would be hired to do ads for Hostess twinkies snack cakes. The ad appearing in time square on one of their sixty foot tall television screens.

A freak wiring accident would occur while Steve Trevor was there to make an unspecified speech under said television screen, the video image of Cooky La Moo came to life, creating a sixty foot tall version of the famous actress!

Grabbing Steve and holding him in one hand, Cooky La Moo declared he was going to be her new agent and that no one said no to Cooky La Moo! With Steve doomed to the life of a hollywood agent, only Wonder Woman could save him in this time of need!

Thus Wonder Woman flying in on her invisible jet lasso'd Cooky La Moo before proceeding to feed her Hostess twinkie snack cakes 'The taste that can't be beat'

The resulting pastry inhalment had a profound affect upon Cooky La Moo who setting Steve down, declared that she would head for hollywood and demand to be paid in Hostess twinkie snack cakes


And thus the sixty foot tall Cooky La Moo would begin her new life of stardom. Presumably to star in a physcholocial drama titled 'thats the way the Cooky crumbles' or play the role of a brilliant scientist in 'Thats one smart Cooky' or a hiest film titled 'Caught her hand in the Cooky jar'.
