Year of Wonder Woman

Day 446: Jaxo the master of thought
Jaxo was a criminal kingpin and master manipulator who was infamous for his ability to talk people into doing anything. So much so that people claimed he simply had to open his mouth and the most virtuous of police officer would look the other way as he went on a criminal crime wave.

Desiring more than anything else to control others, Jaxo sought to expand his influence. And hearing word of a brilliant scientist who was developing a device for commanding brain waves, Jaxo desired it for himself. So studying to further his intellect enough that he could pass for a research assistant.

Jaxo got his way into the research laboratory and meeting with professor synapse, he cosied up to the brilliant man and discovered the professors 'Brain interferer' a device which would send out a telepathic signal that scrambled the brains of those it targeted, causing them to lose full motor function and conciousness, leaving them vulnerable to the mental commands of the one using the device.

Professor Synapse was excited to explain how his device worked, declaring that it could be used to stop people from committing crimes. Put an end to all war. And all violence by making everyone serve the common good.

Upon finding out everything he needed to know, Jaxo wasted no time in killing Professor Synapse, and was about to make off with the device when sighting the murder, one of the researchers called the police! Jaxo in a panic grabbed the plans and made it outside when the police arrived. Thinking fast, Jaxo handed the blueprints for the machine to one of his henchmen who ran off and Jaxo about to try sweet talking his way out of the whole debacle, was recognized and muzzled before he could get out a word.

Fortunately for Jaxo, he had planned for just such a problem and his henchmen knowing what to do, bribed one of the guards of the prison holding Jaxo to get their boss a drug which stimulated death. Then they proceeded to contact a man who happend to look the splitting image of Jaxo by the name of Darren Dopple. Darren having been talked into doing this when the time was right, took a deadly poison which simulated the effects of a heart attack and died.

Then as Jaxo was being carted off to a coroner, they switched the bodies and coming back days later, Jaxo was given the blueprints by his henchmen whom he ordered to lay low, declaring that he would meet them at their safe house.

Leaving the coroners through the back door leading into the local graveyard, Jaxo was walking along intending to cut cross country to their safe house to avoid detection when he fell into an open grave and like all deposited bodies, fell hundreds of feet down into the domain of the mole men.

Rescued by farming Mole People who nursed him back to health, Jaxo convinced them to help him build the 'Brain interferer' and upon its completion, Jaxo put on the control device and with but a single command, every brain in the world shut down, creating untold havoc world wide.

Pilots and drivers lost consciousness on the spot, crashing. Surgeons collapsed upon the patients they were operating on. Roofers and mountain climbers fell from great heights. And great tragedies befell the world.

Diana Prince flying with Etta Candy and the Holliday girls was beset upon by the effects of the brain interferer which instantly knocked out the Holliday girls and Diana started to loose control herself until with a prayer to Aphrodite, Wonder Woman drew upon her psychic power to withstand the terrible might of the telepathic signal!

Landing the plane in the middle of a road, Wonder Woman tried to figure out what was going on when her invisible plane flying on its own, lowered its ladder and snagged Wonder Woman, taking to the skies with the rather confused Amazonian princess.

The plane flying straight back to Paradise Island turned out to be under the mental control of Queen Hippolyta who hijacking Dianas telepathically controlled plane with her far more poweful psychic abilities, explained to her daughter the great plight which was effecting the world.

Using the vision sphere they discovered Jaxo who now calling himself the master of thought, had brought the entire world under his sway. That is, with the sole exception of the Amazons who happened to be the most powerful psychics in the world.

Hippolyta declared that Jaxo with the power of the device at his disposal, was aware of the Amazons and could sense their presence rebelling against the device he was using, and he was amassing the worlds forces to bring about the Amazons destruction so that he could have complete and total control of the world.

The Amazons raising their defenses, began hurriedly trying to invent a solution to the crisis which faced the world even as Jaxo the master of thought sought to destroy them, so that he would rule the world unchecked and eventually send the signal outward to command the galaxy!

It bears mentioning that as Doctor Psycho had the power to manipulate astral matter, and mind controlling villains like Hypnota and the Cheetah were limited by proximity, this was the first time Wonder Woman had encountered a mind controlling villain of such magnitude.

Day 447: Baton De Boar the 18th
Decedent of Baron Baton De Boar, a legendary science knight from the distant past, Baton the 18th growing up on the tales of the brilliant baron, idolized his ancestor and swore to take up his ancestors legacy. However unlike his great ancestor, Baton the 18th intended to use science....FOR <B>EVIL!</b>

Baron Baton De Boar was a brilliant scientist in the times of medevil Europe. Ruling his barony through peace and prosperity, Baron Baton De Boar was renowned for two things.
His brilliant scientific mind which he used to develop an indestructible metal. Fashioning this unbreakable alloy into armor, Baton De Boar personally hand crafted hundreds of suits of armor and gave them to his knights whom he tasked with keeping the peace and aiding the downtrodden. Thus, no criminal in Baton De Boars Barony could stand against his might.

The other thing that Baton De Boar was well known for was his obsession with boars. Often praised by the baron as the nobelest of creatures, Baton De Boar was obsessed with boars and in all of his creations he would craft intricate Boars into them. Thus a De Boar piece of armor could be immediently identified for having boars carved into it.
This was especially true for Baron Baton De Boars own personal suit of armor which had a boars head in place of a traditional helm. So in love with boars was the baron, that it was said he never removed his suit of armor until death.

Carrying on his love of science until his death, Baton De Boar while lacking the means of making his dream a reality at the time, had envisioned a barony where the people would be protected by automatons which responded to mere thought from their baron. Creating intricate blueprints on the idea but lacking the technological advancement to make his dreams a reality, Baton De Boar perished, leaving behind his blueprints and a wish to his children to make his dream a reality.

Generations would pass and many a De Boar would take up the path of science and attempt to make De Boars dream a reality. Financing generations of research a suit of armor here and there would be sold off to museums. Parcels of the barony sold off. Little by little until the barony De Boar put so much pride into had become but a distant memory, and the De Boars were reduced to a tiny shack on the cliffside with barely two shillings to rub together.

Baton the 18th swearing to take back everything their family had lost over the generations had finally succeed where past De Boars had failed! He had perfected automatons, and a mental control device which he could use to control them.

Planning to begin stealing back every lost suit of armor, Baton the 18th realized he would naturally be the first suspect. So sneaking off to the nearby graveyard, he dug up a corpse, dragged it to his home, and set the house ablaze. People assumed he had died in the fire when in reality Baton the 18th had faked his death and was hard at work researching the locations of every single suit of armor.

Stealing first the barons own armor from the Holliday college museum exhibit, Baton the 18th installed the mental control device into the helmet and donned the armor!
Then began a robbery in New York city where five De Boar armors had been on display. Escaping, Baton the 18th went into hiding once more and installed his automatons into the suits of armor and began sending them in his place to steal the other armors, sending them across the globe to amass the hundreds of armored suits that Baton De Boar the first had created.

Wonder Woman encountering the suits of armor during one of their robberies, attempted to lasso the automatons but lacking wills of their own, they fought against Wonder Womans lasso until the automatons lacking the invulnerability of their armored shell, soon tore themselves apart, their joints snapping off from the pressure.

Wonder Woman realizing that they were psychically controlled, dug out all of the automaton from one of the armored suits and used her mental radio to pick up the signal from Baton the 18ths mental controller.

Arriving at what was once De Boar castle, Wonder Woman discovered that Bato nthe 18th was amassing his army of boar-bots to conquer the land which used to belong to Baron Baton De Boar and declare himself their ruler!

Wonder Woman naturally not about to let that happen, soon wrangled the entire automaton army and with Baton the 18th powerless, she carted him and the robots off to jail where I like to imagine the automatons all wore matching prison stripes.

Day 448: Rab Harangues
Original character do not steal, Rab Harangues is a fisherman who traveled the seas with his crew and family when tragedy struck. For they were attacked by a killer white whale which attacking their vessel, caused it to capsize, and Rab Harangue was the only one to wash ashore.

Swearing revenge against the well, Rab Harangues declared that he would end the whales life no matter the cost! First contacting a banker to finance his endevor, Rab was turned down, his whole scheme declared a suicide mission.
Then failing that, Rab contacted various whaling vessels but the killer white whale had such a dire reputation that none dared to confront it.

Desperate, Rab Harangues then proceeded to sell his house, his car, and everything he owned so he could purchase a harpoon and unable to afford a modern vessel, Rab Harangues settled for an old fashioned wooden ship,

Then hiring a band of toughs for the voyage, Rab waited until they were well out to see before informing them that they were going after the great white. Horrified, the dock hands declared that it was insane and were about to mutiny when the ship was attacked by the killer white whale!

Rab attempting to run the whale through, missed by a mile and was about to attempt ramming the ship into the large mammal only to be ganged up on and tied up by the crew who terrified within reason, turned that ship around and hightailed it back to land with the giant whale in pursuit until they had reached safe harbor, much to the fury of Rab.

Throwing Harangues money back in his face, the former crew declared that they would have nothing to do with Rab Harangue and his mad obsession. I blame those Herman Melville novels for their behavior.

Lacking even a skeletal crew, Rab Harangue was unable to get that wooden ship out to sea, much less find a means of killing the killer white whale, thus he spent his days on the docks, staring out into the sea cursing the killer white whale with all his strength.

Day 449: Danna
Mole woman farmer of the mole people kingdom beneath the Earth, Danna like Carra had been tricked into helping Jaxo, the master of thought complete his 'brain interferer' which allowed him to take over the world through mind control.

Jaxo the master of thought aware that the Amazons were fending off his machines psychic signal, sent the world to attack Paradise Island! But with the island protected as it was, no plane or ship could reach its shores.

Jaxo though aware that the island had to be connected to land, commanded the mole people lead by Danna to tunnel up to Paradise Island from below the surface and take the island by force!

Armed with brain scramblers, a weapon used by law enforcement among the mole people to stun criminals so they can be carted off to jail without physical harm, Danna and her fellow mole people appeared on the islands surface as Wonder Woman, Hippolta and their fellow Amazons strived to invent a solution to the crisis at hand.

Upon being hit by a brain scrambler, an Amazon would be stunned and it would take their full concentration to keep from losing control and falling victim to Jaxo's 'brain interferer'

Danna little more than a mindless drone, lead the charge and soon the Amazons were left to busy fending off the attack to stop Jaxo's device! While the Amazons were distracted, Jaxo had revealed his final plan. Having a nuclear missile transported into the mole kingdom, Jaxo set it to launch straight out of the tunnel created by the mole people and programmed to turn around and smash down into the island, killing the Amazons while they were to distracted by the mole people to stop it!

The missile launching into the air and turning upon the island, all seemed lost. However Queen Hippolyta spotting it, called out to her daughter, which led to Wonder Woman leaping a hundred feet into the air and landing upon the missile!

Tearing off the side panel, Diana began to disarm it, however she did not have enough time before it reached the ground. Thus turning the missile, Wonder Woman sent it shooting down the very tunnel that it had arrived in and simultaneously worked to disarm it as she guided it down the narrow tunnel.

Jaxo seeing the missile coming at him screamed in terror and losing all concentration, everyone under his control suddenly slumped unconcious. With no one to stop her, Wonder Woman finished disarming it and leaped from the missile. Lassoing Jaxo and pulling him away, the two got behind a rock just as the unarmed missile smashed into the machine, destroying it.

With that, the brain interferer was disarmed and the world was saved, with society putting itself back together such as Steve Trevor and Philip Darnell who had ended up at the bottom of a cliff when their car went off the road.

Danna and the mole people apologizing to the Amazons, worked to undo any damage they had caused as Jaxo was carted off so that he may never cause such a crisis ever again.

Day 450: James Magnus

The magnanimous James Magnus was a lumberer, developer, and philanthropist who with concern for the homeless in the world, declared that he would make it his goal to construct homes for all and due away with homelessness forever!

His dream however was held back by the cost of constructing so many dwellings, so James Magnus plotted and pondered, trying to find a solution. That is until he heard about Rojo forest. A forest in the American midwest, Rojo forest was nestled in a canyon and was home to Rojo trees. A curious tree which can grow from a seedling to the size of a redwood in but a single year.


Confined to that valley which kept it from covering the united states, the idea of a forest of these amazing wonder trees filled James Magnus with delight, for they would provide enough lumber to make his dream a reality a hundred times over!


Seeking to purchase the land, James Magnus found to his amazement that the land was dirt cheap, with the bank practically trying to give it away. James not seeing anything unusual about this, invested everything he had into purchasing that land and hiring lumberer jacks to help cut down the trees so he could begin his construction.

However tragedy befell James magnanimous project when he discovered the other notable feature of rojo trees. For when the lumbererjacks tried striking the rojo trees, the very earth began to shake and sent the lumberjacks falling to the ground, shaking along with the surrounding area. With not even a scratch on the tree which tasted that axe blade.

For rojo trees not only grew incredibly quickly, but they were remarkably resilient. Able to channel any blow upon it into the earth, the rojo trees were impervious to damage, and attempting to cut one down caused earthquakes to occur.

If James Magnus could harvest those rojo trees they would be indestructible homes impervious to any damage or earthquake. However getting them out of the ground was a seemingly impossible task.

The lumberjacks swearing it was impossible abandoned James and his dream of helping the homeless, leaving the poor fellow with unsalvagable timber.

Day 451: Lorelei Lorn
The most dangerous beauty in the world, Lorelei has the reputation as the most captivating woman ever to exist! Hailing from France, Lorelei appeared overnight with a fanbase that blossomed the moment she hit the scene!

Beloved by men and women worldwide who fell in love with her at first sight, Lorelei gained a reputation for being the most desired of beauties and this led to the wealthiest of playboys and flirts to court her, giving her presents and jewels so that they could say that they had shared a kiss with the 'most beautiful women in the world'

After amassing half of the worlds jewels which had been gifted to her simply for her beauty, Lorelei declared that she was leaving France for the United States, to take her beautiful face to the glorious New York City.
When this was announced men gathered in the tens of thousands in the streets of Paris wearing mourning clothes, tearfully sobbing as she departed, declaring that the city had lost its luster with her departure.

Thousands more refusing to live without Lorelei chased after her cruise ship in row boat, speed boat, and swam after her all the way across the Atlantic ocean, desperate to be with her!

The chief of police in New York worried about the scene Lorelei caused in Paris requested Wonder Woman serve as security lest the massive amount of attention lead to a criminal act. Especially given that Lorelei Lorn was bringing with her, her entire collection of jewels which was sure to attract criminals.

Upon arriving in New York city, the city was shut down as millions of men flooded the streets for a look at Lorelei as she drove by, shutting down traffic for days.

Phone lines were tied up across the country with men attempting to get patched through to Lorelei so they could confess their love to her.

Every flower in the country was purchased on masse and would be laid out wherever she went, creating waist high pile of blooms which stretched for miled.

After a week of this, Lorelei Lorn began to be deemed a national menace, for the country was incapable of functioning in the face of this obsessive adoration and attention she was receiving.

Day 453: Etienne Canvas
French artist who specializes in landscapes, Etienne is a painter from France who with great joy, immortalizes buildings and monuments such as the arc de triumph, and the Eiffel tower. Wearing his blue robe to keep his clothes clean, and a beret to mark his profession, Etienne was a perfect example of the French artiste.

Etienne also happened to bear an uncanny resemblance to the Army Intelligence secret agent, Steve Trevor. Unaware of this fact, Etienne as he did every day, began traveling around Paris with his art equipment to paint the portrait of another one of Frances great landmarks, when he was spotted by the Qaxo gang.

A group of international criminals, the Qaxo gang would attack couriers delivering mail to and from military bases overseas in order to obtain top secret information. During one of their operations, they discovered that Steve Trevor had been assigned to travel to France and root them out. Seeing Etienne, they assumed it was Steve Trevor in disguise, and that the artist was in fact the American army intelligence agent!

Thus wanting to keep from being found out, the Qaxo gang began arranging attempts on Etiennes life made to look like an accident. Digging a hole in the middle of the sidewalk and covering it with tarp to make Etienne fall in. Dropping a safe from a window. Pushing him into an oncoming car. All in an effort to end Etiennes life.

And all of those occasions would have certainly meant the painters end were it not for Wonder Woman. For traveling to Paris to with Etta Candy and the Holliday as Diana Prince for one of their little getaways, Diana happened to witness 'Steve's near deaths and changing into Wonder Woman, she would rush to Etiennes rescue, unaware of the mix up and to busy rushing back to her Diana Prince identity to discover otherwise.

This would lead to the Qaxo gang repeatedly trying to kill the unlucky painter with Wonder Woman rescuing him until finally arriving in Paris was none other than the actual Steve Trevor! Sighting the gang who at this point were so exasperated that they were about to begin firing on Etienne, Steve shot their guns out of their hands and punching them out, he escorted them to the police station, with nobody realizing the mix up that had occurred including poor Etienne Canvas.

Day 453: Grace Conway
Hailing from a family of foresters, Grace Conway and her family oversee and manage a sprawling sea of trees, taking from it when needed and nurturing it so that the trees may serve as a renewable resource, always cautious not to overcut.

Cutting from the forest when necessary but making sure to plant two trees in place of every one felled, Grace Conway has sworn to uphold her families proud tradition of forest growth. Their forest neighboring government land, the Conways are mindful not to go past their border when timbering, though they strive to keep an eye out for the health of the neighboring land.

One day the Conways received a contract with the rail company. Proclaiming their intention of constructing a railway going from Canada to Mexico, the Conways were offered a hefty fee to send them lumber for the project.

Declaring their interest, Grace Conways was put in charge of gathering the necessary lumber and began work with the hired lumberers to do just that. However the men who worked for the Conways began to disappear one by one. Being attacked by gangs of men whenever they went to town, finding their homes broken into and robbed, and being flat out informed that if they continued working for the Conways they would be corpses floating in the river.

These sort of events having a bit of a negative impact upon ones work morale, the lumberjacks quit one by one until Grace Conway was the only one left. With no one to help her, Grace rang up her Holliday College friend Etta Candy and asked her for help with the whole thing, knowing full well that Etta had the strength of a dozen men.

Etta declaring that she would bring along a few of the Holliday girls and hurry on over, mused that the Conway forest was neiboring the redwood forest which stood over Shamrock land, home of the leprechauns whom Etta intended to pay a visit.

Day 454: Professor Earl Dean

Accredited meteorologist and researcher into the weather pattern variances from high to low altitudes, Professor Earl Dean for the sake of his research wished to scale rocky crag peak, a mountain of sheer stone pillars jutting upwards which had a reputation for their own unique and peculiar weather patterns.

In order to accumulate this data, Professor Dean first attempted to get a loan from the bank to finance his daring expedition in the name of furthering science! However upon being refused, the good professor declared he would instead finance the entire foray out of his own pocket.

Hiring a crew of professional mountain climbers, Professor Earl Dean intended to scale the mountain and do what none had done before! But with sheer vertical cliffs the entire way, it made for a dangerous journey. As his expedition team scaled the mountain they were hit with firce winds which send those not secured flying into the air. Torrential rains that pelted them with the fury of the elements. Sleet that blinded and cut with its chill. And loose rock which gave away without any warning.

After encountering such a cruel variety of challenges at the first fifty feet of the mountain the professional climbers gave up and descended, declaring that Earl Deans goal of scaling Rocky Crag Peak was a suicide mission.

However not about to give up, Earl Dean swore to do it in the name of science! Thus turning to the Starvard college where he hung his hat, Earl Dean drew upon an endless renewable resource to aid him known as research assistants. Supposedly brave young men who under contractual obligation, were forced to prepare for the journey to scale the mountain with their professor in the name of furthering SCIENCE!

Day 455: Derek Nason

Manager of world renowned beauty Lorelei Lorn, Derek when asked will insist that he simply does Lorelei's bidding, and does whatever he can to fulfill her wishes. When prompted to keep Lorelei from causing trouble, Derek simply shakes his head, declaring that nobody tells Lorelei Lorn what to do.

At Loreleis bidding, Derek arranges a contest wherin one lucky winner from a name draw by Lorelei would become her escort while she was staying in America. The lottery was held, and the winner wound up being Steve Trevor.

Thus Steve Trevor would be at Loreleis side at all public events, the two never being seeing out in the open outside of one anothers company for a full week. The pair beginning to show affection for one another, declared that they were deeply in love, and that they would be wed on the upcoming weekend.

Hearing this, Derek fainted from the spot and upon awakening, he fled the city in tears and finding the tallest mountain on the east coast, Derek Nason attempted to throw himself off of it, only to be rescued by Wonder Woman!

Wonder Woman sitting the poor man down, asked him to explain himself and Derek revealed that he had been madly in love with Lorelei for years back before she was the star she was today. Seeing her as the greatest beauty the world had ever known, Derek had in secret, been arranging publicity stunts without anyones knowing to build up Loreleis reputation as the most desired beauty.

Every flower in the country being bought for Lorelei came out of Dereks own pocket. The people swimming from France to America to be with Lorelei were in fact paid athletes. The phone congestion, the millions of daily letters, the mourners in france. All of it had been publicity stunts arranged by Derek Nason in an effort to cement Loreleis reputation for being an unsurpassed and beauty that everyone desired.

Derek fitfully declares that he couldn't live another day without Lorelei in his life to which Wonder Woman declared that Derek should be telling Lorelei Lorn this himself, instead of wallowing in grief.

Thus so it was that Wonder Woman scooping Derek under one arm, carried him off in her invisible plane to crash the wedding.

Day 456: Mr. Sharpe, and Mr. Dulle

Pair of greedy investors, Sharpe and Dulle are a duo who seek out scientific achievements and attempt to use them to somehow turn a massive profit.

Sharpe is a misogynist who revels in his own intellect, frequently patting himself on the back for his own over exaggerated cleverness.

As for Dulle, he is a most terrible dullard who is so lacking in interesting traits that his name is rarely spoken of without also making mention of Mr. Sharpe whom he has worked closely with for ages.

The pair hearing word of a planned space flight intended to record departure and reentry into various planetary atmospheres in order to collect data to aid in the development of more efficient means of traveling to and from planetary bodies. Realizing that such an expedition would allow them the means of collecting rare metals across the solar system, the pair approached Professor Owler, the scientist attempting this scientific venture and offered to finance the whole thing if they could travel along and make use of the rockets storage.

Professor Owler agreed and the pair proceeded to hire a circus strongman by the name of Thor to serve as their bodyguard and porter for the flight, intending for him to collect any valuables they might discover along the way.

Professor Owler convincing the military that it would be beneficial to them as well, convinced them to loan them Steve Trevor who would serve as pilot for that fantastic voyage.

Day 457: Abner Grabb

Evil lumber company owner, Abner Grabb is a greedy lumberer who wants to grab up the Conways land and business. Hiring thugs to harass and threaten lumberjacks for the rival business, Abner Grabb intended to swoop in and steal the railroad contract for himself!

However not owning any land, Abner Grabb instead intended to sneak into government land and chop down trees to sell, convinced that no one would ever know. So convincing his men that the government land he drove them to was his own property, they began chopping away at redwood forest.

However, that redwood forest happens to be atop Shamrock land, home of the little people and Irish settlers who joined them in traveling to the new country to escape the great famine. This was a great problem for every time one of the redwood trees crashed down, it caused horrific earthquakes in shamrock land. Desperate to stop this, Woggle declared that they needed Wonder Woman to help them!

Thus Shaggy, Woggle and Hoppy declared that they would cross the largest mountains! fjord the greatest oceans! Overcome any obstacle that seperated them from the one hero who could possibly save the day!

And thus leaving Shamrock land they found Wonder Woman in her Diana Prince guise, having joined Etta Candy in helping Grace Conway.

The three leprechauns knowing Wonder Womans secret identity and being invisible to most mortals could only be seen by Diana and Etta. Thus the leprechauns not understanding the concept of secret in secret identity, ran over to a shockingly surprised Diana Prince declaring that their home was in danger and that only her, Wonder Woman could save them!

Not giving the flustered Diana Prince a chance to get a word through, the leprechauns grabbed Diana by the hands and ran with her to the redwood forest to show her the lumberjacks tearing down the trees above Shamrock land!

Wonder Woman knowing it was government land, confronted Abner Grabb and the lumberjacks, declaring that they were caught red handed!

Abner realizing that he would go to jail for what he was doing, began screaming in a rage and firing at Wonder Woman who with bemusement effortlessly deflected the bullets with her bracelets.

However Hoppy Woggle and Shaggy thinking that Wonder Woman would lose, declared that they would help her defeat the villainous Abner Grabb! Thus grabbing the magic lasso from Wonder Womans belt, the three leprechauns tried to throw the lasso over Abner but instead manage to tangle Wonder Woman up in it, sending her falling over, rolling down a hill, and landing into the river rapids down a waterfall!

The leprechauns were aghast and the lumberjacks horrified by what they just saw. Abner holding up his gun, declared that if law enforcment found out what happened they would all be locked up. Thus with nervousness, the lumberjacks went back to work pretending they saw nothing.

As for Woggle Shaggy and Hoppy, the three leprechauns feared Wonder Woman was dead and swore to make up for what they had done by stopping the lumberjacks themselves!

Thus began the haunting of the lumber sight as fights broke out over one man suddenly being punched in the face and attacking a nearby lumberjack who claimed innocence. Tools would get lost and blamed on others. Food would be ruined.


Within a day tension had run high and Abner Grabb was straining to keep his men under control when arriving once again was Wonder Woman! Having finally worked herself free of the knotted lasso, Wonder Woman swam back to the sight and not wanting a repeat of last time, immediately grabbed Abner Grabb with her magic lasso, catching him!

Then calling her plane by telepathic command, Wonder Woman had it fly overhead, dispelling moonbeam gas which grants adults the ability to see the little people. The lumberjacks seeing the leprechauns for the first time, learned from them that the forest rested above their home and that the lumberjacks threatened to destroy their country with their illegal lumbering.

Horrified, the lumberers swore to stop what they were doing an apologized to the Leprechauns, though they voiced dismay that they were now without work. Hearing this, Wonder Woman pointed out that the Conway mill was nearby and hiring, to which every lumberjack to a man went on to be hired on with the Conways, saving Grace Conways family business.

As for Abner Grabb, when Wonder Woman wasn't looking he had seemingly escaped, though in reality Shaggy, Woggle, and Hoppy had shot him with a fairy dart and carted him off to Shamrock land where he would be punished for his crimes by the queen of the fairies.

Day 458: Gasher Snipe
Leader of the Gasher jewel gang, a group of heinous criminals who have been known to kill during their robberies, murdering entire rooms of people to avoid witnesses.

Remaining uncaptured thanks to their heinous efforts to murder anyone whom they encountered be it innocent or fellow criminal, Gasher and his gang seek out jewels and sell them on the black market through a third party.

Hearing of the wedding between Steve Trevor and Lorelei Lorn which the coupld announced would feature Lorelei Lorn's entire collection of gems, the Gasher jewel gang decided that they would rob the wedding and kill everyone there!

Thus sneaking in as guests, the pair waited until the jewels were unvieled to remove their disguises and pulling out tommy guns, they were about to kill everyone there.

But that was when Wonder Woman arrived with Derek Nason under one arm! Dropping the manager who ran to Lorelei, Wonder Woman proceeded to effortlessly deflect every single bullet Gasher and his gang fired.

Gasher seeing it was Wonder Woman they were dealing with, ordered his men to fire at the crowds, intending to make a get away, only for half of the guests to suddenly jump the gang, knocking them unconscious and cuffing them!

For in reality, Steve Trevor in an effort to apprehend Gasher Snipe, contacted Lorelei Lorn and explaining to her his plan, she arranged for the contest and for Steve to win, the entire thing including the wedding being all part of an intricate plan to catch the gangsters using unavoidable bait.

Upon discovering that the wedding was all a ruse, Derek Nason blurted out his romantic confession to Lorelei Lorn, revealing his true and sincere feelings for her. And with that, the two were engaged, much to the dissapointment of many for the worlds greatest beauty was no longer single.

Day 459: Professor Owler
Rocket scientist with a desire to make atmospheric entry and departures more energy efficient, Professor Owler upon receiving funding from Sharpe and Dulle, arranged for his flight to every planet in the solar system in an effort to make space travel easier.

Rushing their scheduled flight plan due to an approaching thunderstorm, the flight left a day earlier than intended which was expected to cause an uncommon deviation in their space flight plan.

And thus with pilot Steve Trevor taking off into space, Professor Owler excitedly began recording data as Dulle, Sharpe, and Thor eagerly sat in the storage room, plotting to fill it with treasure.
The five of them journeying deep into space to begin their jaunt across the solar system were soon surprised to discover something surprising. A stationary planet sitting in space, not orbiting the sun like other worlds. Surrounding by an unnatural cloud within space, it would be impossible to discover unless one was within its orbit.

The planet for some reason not showing up on their equipment, the group looked at it curiously with Sharpe demanding that they land. The investor already plotting to somehow claim the world for himself and turn a tidy profit.

Since Sharpe and Dulle were financing their venture, Owler had Steve land, and the five of them exited the ship and were amazed by what they found.
A planet where all of the trees, rocks and plants were priceless jewels. Trees with apples of ruby. Grass made from emerald. Flowers made up of diamond, sapphire, and topaz.

Sharpe and Dulle drooling at the sight immediately ordered Thor to load the rocket ship with as much as they ship could hold, and gleefully, Sharpe declared that the planet was theirs by right of discovery!

Hearing this, Professor Owler protested, pointing out that the planet could already be inhabited, pointing out that the planet was certainly teeming with wildlife as he pointed out the deer, horse, and many many pigs which inhabited that strange planet. Many of which responded rather excitedly to the five.

After loading the jewels, Thor exhausted, spied a spring nearby and sweating up a storm, he walked over and drank from it, soon exclaiming that the water tasted of champagne! The others hearing this and curious to try it themselves, ignored the frenzied shrieks of the wildlife and walked over to the spring to drink from it themselves, marveling at how it tasted.

However shortly after they did, a woman appeared before them with a flash of light. Introducing herself as Circe the enchantress, she welcomed them to her home of planet Sorca, and thanked them for drinking from her spring of transformation.

With a wave of her hand, the five men were transformed. With Steve Trevor becoming a lion, Thor becoming an ape, Mr. Sharpe becoming a fox, Mr. Dulle becoming a donkey, and Professor Owler becoming an owl. Then changing the land around them into a wall of flames, Circe laughing, caused the walls of flame to move, herding the five towards cages, declaring that she would keep them in her zoo for now.

Professor Owler though blessed with the power of flight in his current form took off into the skies while Circe was focused on the others, and made his way back to the rocket ship. Using his genius intellect, the hand sized owl succeeded in starting the rocket, and flying free from planet Sorca back to Earth.

Meanwhile Wonder Woman had been in Paula Von Gunthers lab, watching from Paula's space televiser to witness the rocket which had mysteriously vanished into thin air from their perspective, only to suddenly reappear as it erratically returned to Earth.

Wonder Woman seeing the rocket was about to crash, flew up in her invisible plane and lasso'd it, carrying it down to Earth safely. Opening it up, Diana discover Professor Owler inside who explained to Wonder Woman what happened. The dangerous Circe and how the others had likewise been turned into animals and were even now her prisoner.

Wonder Woman declaring she would rescue Steve and the others left Professor Owler in Paula Von Gunthers care and took off for planet Sorca in her invisible plane to confront Circe the enchantress!

Day 460: Captain Ranson
Captain of the S.S Neptune and professional salvager, Captain Ranson would be hired by companies to hunt down lost ships and reclaim their valuables for a hefty profit.

Contacted by Riverview hospital, Captain Ranson was hired to retrieve a container of radium to be used in treating deadly disease. However radium being dangerous to come in contact with, Captain Ranson arranged for the creation of radiation proof diving suits.

So sailing off with a periscope below his ship keeping an eye out for the sunken vessel the S.S Amphib, Captain Ranson searched for days until he spotted the sunken ship, and sent out a team of his crew in the special radiation proof diving suits to retrieve the radium!

Keeping in contact with them through a radio system built into their suits, Captain Ranson kept in contact with his crew who reported retrieving the radium, only for his men to suddenly scream out in agony before tragedy struck! They seemingly vanished with no sign of the score of men who died trying to retrieve that dangerous radium.

Distraught, Captain Ranson swore that he would retrieve that radium for the sake of his fallen men and went to the bank to get a loan for new equipment to make it possible. However much to Captain Ransons chargin, word spread quickly about the multitude of deaths surrounding his venture and no divers dared to consider such a dangerous job.

Suffering from a case of sanity which prevented him from diving himself, Captain Ranson was helpless to succeed in his sworn goal.

Day 461: Gerda Grabb
Daughter of Abner Grabb, Gerda is a snobby student of Holliday college who professes her own wealth and prestige, a fact which Etta Candy calls into question. In reality, Gerda was so enraptured in her fathers stories of future wealth and how they would strike it rich and live the high life that she had convinced herself that it was all already a reality.

Despite her snobbish attitude, Gerda was not a bad person and upon hearing that Grace Conway was having trouble at her parents lumber mill, she hurried over with several other Holliday girls, looking down her nose at the lot of them the entire time, basking in her own self importance and arrogance even as she strived to save the Conways railroad contract. Unaware that her father was even then trying to steal it away from the Conways.

Meanwhile back in Shamrock land, Abner Grabb had managed to escape the leprechauns prison thanks to the four dozen cigars he kept on his person at all times. Smoking one after another until the air became unbreathable for the leprechauns, Abner Grabb made his escape and swore to destroy the Conways if it was the last thing he did!

So getting back to his camp which was now abandoned, Abner collected his entire supply of dynamite and set it up on the Conway bridge connecting their home to their camp, intending to blow Grace Conway to smithereens.

Thus hearing two women chatting as they crossed the bridge, the cackling Abner Grabb set off the explosives, causing the bridge to explode! Seeing the wooden structure go flying into the air, the fiend jumped up and down in joy, gleeful at the evil he caused. However that delight soon turned to despair when he saw the two women washing downstream. Etta Candy and...Gerda Grabb, his own daughter.

Horrified, Abner Grabb collapsed, wailing in horror at the terrible tragedy he had wrought, cursing his greed for the suffering it had caused. However as fortune would have it, Shaggy, Hoppy and Woggle had been in pursuit of the escaping Abner Grabb and spotted the disaster!

Thus leaping into the raging river, the three leprechauns dragged Gerda and Etta onto some floatsam and kept them from drowning long enough for Wonder Woman to arrive and administer CPR upon both individuals, saving their lives!

With both Gerda and Etta returned safe ad sound, Abner Grabb realized the errors of his ways and without hesitation, turned himself in to the authorities, declaring that he must pay for his crimes, and swore ever to be motivated by greed ever again.

Day 462: Truff
The greatest criminal in all of Australia, Truff is a a villainous genius at subterfuge and master of disguise. Secretly operating out of the back of a costume shoppe run by one of his men, Truff taking advantage of the shoppes nature walks about freely within, claiming that he isn't Truff the incredibly dashing, handsome and brilliant criminal mastermind who has the police baffled. He is simply wearing a Truff 'costume'~

The secret behind Truffs reputation as Austrailias greatest criminal isn't simply because of his ability to avoid capture. It is also thanks to his expert means of infiltrating banks, government buildings, and military bases without even the tiniest of difficulties. This is thanks to their brilliant costumes courtesy of Truffs costume shoppe, allowing them to mosey in dressed as politicians, police officers, and generals in the military without anyone being the least bit suspicious.

His gang consisting of a shopkeep, a tailor, a kangaroo rancher and an army of kangaroos with boxing gloves, the lot of them effortlessly walk into the most secure of facilities with their impenetrable disguises and beating up the guards, they make off to their hideout which is a costume shoppe disguised as a secret headquarters.

While Truff is the greatest criminals in all of Austrailia, in reality Truff feels like a big fish in a small pond. For Truff dreams of one day traveling to that fabled land of America with its big time criminals and making a name for himself not in a place like Austrailia, but in America, where being a criminal mastermind means something

Thus when an opportunity in the form of Velma Vanton walks in, Truff begins to concoct a plan to put himself on the map as the greatest criminal in the world...

Day 463: Circe
Fabled enchantress of legend, Circe was an immortal with incredible powers, able to command the earth itself to bend to her will. Capable of transforming anyone who drank of her enchanted water into whatever she desired, Circe called the island of Aiaie her home, gleefully enslaving those unfortunate few who unknowingly crossed into her territory.

Queen Hippolyta declaring that Circes days of tormenting innocnet passerbys were over, invaded Aiaie and captured Circe. Then declaring that she would re-exile Circe to a place where she would not cause anyone any harm, Hippolyta transported Circe to planet Sorca. A world which at the time was barren and lifeless. Sitting in a perpetual space cloud and lacking a gravitational orbit, Sorca was to be the one place Circe could torment no one ever again.

Left with a whole planet under her control, Circe using her incredible powers soon turned it into a paradise. Growing plants from the dead rock, and transforming the landscape into a beautiful world of gemstones, Circe soon possessed a paradise, with flowing rivers and lakes of her transformation potion.

However despite Hippolytas expectations due to her lack of insight as to just how much intergalactic space traffic passed through, many a poor soul soon found themselves under Circes control, cursed to the form of an animal and living on a world where everything from the earth, the weather, the elements to the plant life were at Circes command.

Wonder Woman determined to rescue Steve and the others, arrived on planet Sorca by following Professor Owlers directions. Upon arriving, Diana was immediately greeted by Circe who jovially showed Wonder Woman the little zoo she set up with the animals which had once been Steve, Sharpe, Dulle, and Thor.

Wonder Woman demanded that Circe free them, to which Circe promised she would do so...If Diana drank from a goblet which she offered. However Wonder Woman well aware of Circes enchanted water from Professor Owler, refused, leading to Circe summoning storm clouds and calling forth geysers to splash upon the Amazonian princess.

Thus began a great chase as Wonder Woman ran from the almighty enchantress who declared that she would make Wonder Woman her pet and keep Diana at her side on a leash till the end of time!

Retreating into the forest and making a run for her invisible plane, Wonder Woman almost escaped only for Circe to command the trees themselves which splashed Wonder Woman with morning dew.

upon being splashed, Wonder Woman was turned into a deer, her magic lasso falling on the ground as her clothing transformed along with herself.

Circe grabbing up the lasso attempted to catch Diana with it, only for the doe formerly known as Wonder Woman to leap away, running like the wind.

Bemused, Circe declared that this would be a fun game, and thus deciding not to use her powers, the enchantress began seeking Wonder Woman, intending to catch her with the magic lasso, sealing Wonder Womans fate.

Deciding to make their little game more interesting, Circe even called out to Wonder Woman informing her that she had invented a cure to her transformations known as 'Molu' which was contained in a bottle somewhere on the planet.

Wonder Woman running for her life, still possessed the incredible speed and strength granted to all Amazons and was able to narrowly avoid Circe, but she knew that it would be impossible for her to find the cure while also avoiding the enchantress.

Seeing another poor soul who had been transformed into a deer, Diana saw her chance and running towards them without explanation, the other doe began to run for her life, not noticing the transformed Wonder Woman who hid beneath a log.

Circe arriving, spotted the running deer and catching her with the magic lasso, chortled with delight and turned one of the trees into a throne. Then commanding 'Wonder Woman' to sit in her lap, the enchantress began to pet the terrified alien as Wonder Woman snuck away.

Pondering, Diana deduced that the cure was probably upon the worlds largest mountain which happened to be made of sheer glass and stood at twice the size of mount Everest. Thus scaling the sheer mountain of glass despite the hazards and difficulty, Wonder Woman reached the top and discovered the Molu!

Using the cure to restore herself, Wonder Woman then confronted Circe who was doting on the deer whom she called her loyal companion, and declared that she had found the Molu!

Circe stupified by this, was shocked long enough for Wonder Woman to lunge and freeing the doe, caught Circe in the magic lasso, capturing the enchantress at last.

And thus after curing everyone who had been cursed by Circe and arranging for them to be transported to their various worlds including Steve Trevor, Wonder Woman declared that any attempt to exile Circe was doomed to failure and instead transported the sorceress to Reform island where the enchantress could hopefully be rehabilitated and accept the Amazonian ways of love and peace.

Wonder Woman Character of the Day

Day 464: Velma Vanton
Australian woman who coincidentally looked exactly like Wonder Woman, Velma Vanton was one day getting ready for a costume party when she entered the Truff costume shoppe. Asking for and discovering that the shoppe had no Amelia Earhart costumes, the clerk suggested she try out a Wonder Woman costume which was all the rage.

While changing, Truff arrived and the two men discussed plans to rob the national diamond mine of all it had when Velma Vanton came out in the costume, looking so much like Wonder Woman that the pair began to draw guns to shoot at her before realizing that it was Velma.

Awed by this, Truff hatched a villainous scheme that would allow him to enter the big leagues and become a master criminal...In America!

Thus introducing himself as a member of American army intelligence, Truff declared that Velma looked exactly like Wonder Woman and asked her if she wanted to become the great Amazonian princess.

Bemused and confused, Velma pointed out that there was only one Wonder Woman, and that she couldn't do half of the things Wonder Woman was famous for. To which Truff concocted a blatant falsehood.

Truff convinced Velma Vanton that 'Wonder Woman, Amazonian princess' was a falsehood concocted to fool the enemies of American army intelligence. In reality, Wonder Woman was the code name for a unit of six special agents all of which shared similar features. Each of these supposed members were talented in specific things, combined forming the complete picture of Wonder Womans fantastical talents which no one person could possibly accomplish.

I just want to take a moment to applaud that specific number since there just so happens to at that point in history to be exactly six people who look identical to Wonder Woman.

Velma convinced by this, declared that if it was to make a difference in the world she would happily join and thus Velma was suckered into aiding Truff with his criminal efforts.

Leading Velma to the national diamond mine, Truff knew that everyone trusted Wonder Woman and convinced Velma that the mine had been taken over by criminals, and that he wanted her to go down to the thugs guarding the entrance, and command them to lay down their weapons, which anyone should do when Wonder Woman tells them so.

Velma does so and the guards without hesitation do as she commands, even asking for her autograph before being mugged and knocked unconcious by a couple dozen boxing kangaroos who made up Truffs gang.

Soon making off with sacks of diamonds carried by his kangaroo army, Truff escorted Velma Vanton to a cargo plane which contained the entirety of Truffs gang and loot, declaring that they were heading for American army intelligence headquarters.

And thus they flew off for America, with Truff plotting to use this Wonder Woman trick to carve out a criminal empire.

Meanwhile Wonder Woman hearing word of this strange robbery by herself, decides to fly off to Austrailia to see what was going on. On the way however, she spotted a cargo plane landing on a deserted island to refuel, and the area surrounded by boxing kangaroos and a single woman who bore an astonishing resemblance to herself.

Wonder Woman landing her plane to find out what was going on, soon earned the panicked squawks of Truff who ordered his men to shoot Wonder Woman. Upon hearing this, all three of his human goons turned their guns on Velma intending to gun her down, only for Wonder Woman to leap to her aid, rescuing the poor Woman, deflecting every bullet and removing any doubt in Velmas mind that this was the true Wonder Woman.

Lassoing criminals, Wonder Woman speaking to the kangaroos convinces them to give up their criminal ways and live a life of love and peace. And thus the kangaroos taking Velma and the criminals, flew the plane back to Austrailia where they returned Velma home, escorted the criminals to jail, and returned the stolen goods to their places of theft, retiring from a life of crime.

As for Velma she in the end got to attend the costume party she had wanted to go to in the first place, and drew alot of praise for her stunning similarity to Wonder Woman.

Day 465: Thomas Tighe

Banker and misogynist, Thomas Tighe is a skinflint who despises all women especially Wonder Woman. A banker who mistrusts his employees, Thomas personally discusses all loan offers with every customer who comes to his bank, and makes a point of spending every day personally counting every single dollar in his vault.

However one day, the unfortunate Thomas Tighe managed to lock himself in his own airtight vault, and was doomed to suffocate. The vault was electrocuted so that anyone who tried to open it at past a certain time would die.

Desperate, the tellers called 911 for help in the hopes of saving their boss and who should arrive but Wonder Woman!


However hearing that his savior would be the one person he hated more than anyone else in the world, Thomas Tighe began screaming through the door, demanding to be left to die, declaring that he would rather end his life surrounded by money than have it tainted by being rescued by a woman!

Diana naturally ignoring his protests pulled the vault door off its hinges, immune to the electrical charge, just as the press arrived. Cursing Wonder Woman, Thomas Tighe shouted to her face that he hated her with every fiber of his being.

The press snapping pictures and smelling a good story, declared that Thomas should offer Wonder Woman a reward, the least he could do for having his life saved. Hearing this, Thomas Tighe looked as if someone had just shot him, only for Wonder Woman to explain that it was against her code of honor to accept monetary gain for doing good deeds, much to Thomas Tighes relief.

However the press not budging an inch, then suggested that knowing how much Wonder Woman cares about education, Thomas Tighe could instead donate money to the Holliday college.

Enraged, Thomas Tighe realized that he couldn't refuse without the press leaping on him like a pack of wolves, tearing him apart with bad publicity. Thus trying to concoct a plan to get out of it, Thomas grudgingly agreed to do so.

Later, a plan occurred to Tighe. A means to get out of it that would make it so that he could keep his money without losing his reputation! Thus making a public statement of it, Thomas Tighe declared that he didn't want to give his money to the undeserving, so he demanded that the school proved it a place of education that would be a good investment for his fortune.

Thus, Thomas Tighe promised five scholarships valued at $20,000 each if the school hand picked five students to undertake his impossible challenge.

Within twenty four hours from his announcement, the Holliday colleges five chosen students must pass a college test, scoring higher than the highest scores at Starvard university. And then, they needed to overcome five challenges of his choosing.

Put an end to the dangers of giants hollow pass.

And with that, Thomas Tighe relaxed, secure in the knowledge that nobody would be able to overcome such impossible feats.

Day 466: Maligno
Servant of Cruelo and citizen of Moltovia, Maligno was a soldier in service to the villainous dictator of the secret nation under the Artic ice of the north pole. Having conquered the land of Moltovia, Cruelo commanded Maligno to journey forth to the outside world and capture some of the native inhabitants in order to discern whether the armies of Cruelo would be able to defeat them.

Thus taking off in one of the Moltovian flying saucers, Maligno and his men journied south until they came upon a flock of cows which they decided to steal for their own profit.
However as they began to abduct the innocent cows they caught the attention of Etta Candy and her friends Roberta 'Bobby' Strong, and Eve Brown who had joined Etta for a vacation at the Bar-L ranch.

Lassoing the cows and pulling them free of the tractor beam, the trio of Holliday girls managed to get captured instead, and were carried off to the north pole, with Etta telepathically calling Wonder Woman to let her know what had transpired and where they were going.

Reaching a gaping hole burned through the ice which emitted a bright blue light into the sky, the saucer flew straight down for miles, taking them to a tropical land filled with dinosaurs.

Bringing forth the prisoners, the malignant Maligno was praised for his actions by Cruelo, and was rewarded for his misdeeds.
As for Etta and the others, they were forced to become gladiators in the coliseum, battling whatever horrors Cruelo threw at them to test the strength of upper worlders.

Thus leading to Etta, Roberta, and Eve facing the likes of Mangators, and Triceratops in a desperate fight for survival!

Day 467: Ruth Rorick
Student of Holliday college, Ruth is known as one of the colleges greatest athletes and with a group of other girls, she was immediately summoned by Dean Sourpuss who with Wonder Woman at her side, had devised a test of student knowledge. Dean Sourpuss announced that their counting on them to get scores exceeding that of Starvard universities graduates, and that the five highest scorers will engage in the trials put forth by Thomas Tighe with the five scholarships on the line.

Thus the gathering of Holliday colleges best and brightest students began, and in the end the entire class succeeded in surpassing the highest scores of Starvard university! Thus it came down to the top five students being chosen to represent the Holliday college and among their number was Ruth Rorick!

Ruth Rorick had a known affinity for animals and her familiarity with the sea was naturally chosen to tackle the troubles of Rab Harangues, the captain who swore revenge for his lost family and crew at the hands of the killer white whale.

Meeting him in her speed boat, Ruth declared that she would aid Rab in his quest to catch the great white whale and waving a harpoon over his head, Rab Harangues leaped upon the speed boat and the two traveled to the open sea!

Along the way, Ruth tried convincing Rab not to kill the whale, citing Wonder Womans example and declaring that according to the Amazonian princess, taking lives is never the answer, and that it is always possible to reason with someone instead.

However Rab Harangues driven by revenge, was deaf to Ruth Roricks efforts, and pressed on, determined to avenge his fallen family! Mere miles from the sight of land, the pair ran afoul of the great whale who immediately attempted to capsize their vessel!

Rab threw his harpoon at the whale attempting to kill it with a single blow, but he missed by a mile, leaving to fly harmlessly overhead and sink into the briny depths.
The speed boat barely remaining right side up with the thrashing of the giant whale, Ruth leaped from the boat upon the whales back, and noticed a giant thorn in the whales tail!

Climbing down the thrashing whale to its tail, Ruth pulled out the giant thorn and immediately, the whale became docile and loyal to Ruth.

It was at that moment that they spotted on the horizon, a makeshift raft containing none other than the lost crew and family of Rab Harangues vessel! For it turned out that rather than perishing in the attack, they had all washed ashore on a desert island and had been crafting a raft in order to make their way ashore.

Fashioning a makeshift tether, Ruth had the whale tow the raft back to shore, bringing the lot of them home and taking the whale to stand trial for its crimes.

Day 468: Ursula Keating
New student to the Holliday college, Ursula drew many a curious look and rumor for her strange demenor and appearance. For coming to school in a horse drawn carriage, Ursula arrived dressed like it was the 1800s and spoke with an archaic manner of speech.

Mocked by her fellow students for how dated she was, Ursula ran away in tears, to be found and comforted by Wonder Woman who once Ursula calmed down, convinced the young college student to tell more about herself.

And thus Wonder Woman discovered that when she was a child, Ursulas parents had passed and she had been taken in and raised by her aunt Abigail Keating, who declaring herself to be dead, demanded that young Ursula lived the life she never had.

Thus Ursula was raised with the necessities her aunt abigail had as a child. She wore her aunts clothes. She was given to eat only food that her aunt liked. She was sent to the same schools as her aunt, and she had been instructed to only befriend the children of Aunt Abigails own friends.

Raised thus, Ursula lived a rather cloisted life, lacking in any knowledge of technology, history and the sciences dating past the 1890s.

Wonder Woman understandably concerned by this, asked Ursula if she could come over to her house and the two flying over in the invisible plane, Wonder Woman found the dining room modeled like a wedding chapel, and aunt Abigail in a white wedding dress.

Seeing Wonder Womans confusion, Ursula explained to Wonder Woman that Aunt Ursula was reenacting her wedding day, a daily ritual she has been doing every day since the year 1898 when her fiance left her at the alter. Thus the two watched as Aunt Ursula greeted people only she could see, assuring them that John Hunter would soon arrive, and that the wedding would begin any moment.

Diana not sure how long it would go on, suggested to Ursula that she stay with Etta Candy at the college dormitories, explaining that Etta would be able to easily help Ursula adjust to college life.

Meanwhile, Wonder Woman decided that she would track down this mysterious John Hunter and do what she could to help the poor aunt Abigail...

Day 469: Mary Lane

Student of the Holliday college, Mary Lane was one of the five students selected to represent the school in an effort to overcome Thomas Tighes challenge and obtain five new scholarships.

Known for her out of the box approach to things, Mary Lane was given the task of cutting down the Rojo trees for James Magnus, allowing him to build indestructible homes for the homeless. A feat which no lumberjack had been able to accomplish thus far due to the nature of Rojo trees.

Indestructible lumber, Rojo trees channel any kinetic energy that comes in contact with them down into the earth, creating earthquakes while leaving the trees themselves immune. Because of this, any attempt to fell one simply results in the poor unfortunate falling to the ground and their axe flying up into the air to possible slice them open.

Mary Lane however refusing to give up, first devised the idea to scale the tree and cut it from the middle, reasoning that doing so would make her safe from the vibrations. However doing so simply resulted in the poor Holliday girl falling from the tree itself, which would have been to her death had she not been wearing lumberjack shoes which caught the tree as she fell.

At a loss, Mary Lane was baffled as to how she could possibly overcome such an impossible trial until she was reminded of Wonder Womans own advice that whenever something seemed impossible, it was always smart to take the time to look at it from a different perspective.

Thus Mary Lane taking this literally stepped back and climbed to the lip of the valley containing the Rojo forest, and mused over how easy it would be to cut the trees if she could just avoid the earthquakes. It was then that realization dawned upon Mary Lane.

Thus hiring a helicopter, Mary Lane flew to the Rojo forest lowered on a rope ladder with an axe in one hand and hanging from the modern marvel, Mary Lane went at that forest with newfound vigor, chopping down tree after tree until James Magnus had enough material to house all of the homeless in the country!

And thus, Mary Lane completed the second challenge.

Day 470: Thews Hound
Newspaper photographer and wannabe journalist, Thews Hound was seeking out his big break, The story that would earn him the attention he so desired from the editor so that he could show his talent and wow the editor.

But rather than an exciting story of bank robberies or shoot outs, Thews sought out a more down to earth piece, focusing on life in the city. But finding a story nobody else had covered which would interest readers was a terrible challenge...Until he stumbled upon the five most boring people in the city! Five people who were the least interesting. Least important. Five individuals whose lives were so minuscule that they could drop off the face of the Earth and nobody would ever know they even existed!

Seeing these five individuals out and interviewing them, Thews asked them many barbed questions for his article. Why did they do a job which was utterly pointless? How did it feel doing something which did not contribute to society in any way? How could they bear to live knowing that nothing they did mattered to any one, and nobody cared about them?

Leaving those five in rather low spirits, Thews rushed to his editor who was so impressed that he put Thews Hounds article in the newspaper. 'The five most unimportant people in the city' the article was titled. Complete with photographs and names, Thews article went into painful detail of how utterly boring and pointless the five were and how pathetic their lives must be.

Television personality Joe Days, host of an evening program, invited Thews onto his show to talk about his article and go into more detail into it much to the delight of the photographer who felt everything was going his way.

However as they two were talking, planning for the next days show, who should arrive, but Wonder Woman! Protesting the article, Wonder Woman exclaimed that there was no such thing as an unimportant person and declared that all five of them were vital to the city and the people who lived in it, to which Thews Hound scoffed.

Joe Days however knowing a potential show when he saw one, challenged Wonder Woman to prove it! If Wonder Woman could prove that those five individuals led important lives that made a difference to others on his program the following night, he would use his program to televise this to all of his viewers so they would know the truth! However, should Wonder Woman fail, then she must perform tricks on his television program for the following week.

Wonder Woman determined to prove that there was no such thing as an unimportant person agreed to Joe Days wager, and thus began a contest which Thews Hound was left agape at, having been forgotten amidst Wonder Womans sudden arrival.

As for Joe Days, he was cackling with glee. For should Wonder Woman lose, he would have a great star performing tricks on his show raising his ratings. And should Wonder Woman win, he would have the Amazonian princess on his show that night showing how interesting those five truly were, raising his ratings. Either way, Joe Days knew he would come out on top.
