What are you listening to?
Simple question. What are you guys listening to? For me, right now I'm listening to some Kinks:
Re: What are you listening to?
I just found a Youtube channel that does vintage style covers of modern songs.

I'm listening to Against Me! right now. They're my favorite band. Plus, the singer, Laura Jane Grace, is a trans woman!
Re: What are you listening to?
Oh yeah, Against Me! were in some of the Lumberjanes mix tapes.

Yup! Those mix tapes were great in general. I'm kind of obsessed with Lumberjanes at the moment (see avatar) so its cool to see that Adam Warrock song as well. I had never heard of him.
Also, is this an appropriate place to chat about music as well? Or just to post music? I feel chat really livens it up.
Anyway, tonight is a Low night:

Everyone here has really good taste so far!
Anyway, today I'm listening to Jawbreaker. They made a song about a boat relatable. That takes skill.

I've found the Pixies (and by extension Frank Black, and Kim Deal and her various projects) to be very hit or miss with me. I love about half the stuff on any given album, and just can't stand the other half.
Re: What are you listening to?
Oh, I know that group! I love their song Ghost! A friend shared it with me a while ago.
As for the Pixies, they are one of my favorite bands. I adore pretty much everything they did. I will admit that Bossanova was a pretty weak album (and Indy Cindy if we're counting it), but I love all their others. Even their B-sides collection gets regular rotation in my collection.
Anyway, today I'm listening to Mogwai:

My mood varies a lot. One hour I'll be listening to Janelle Monae and the next I'll have on early Blues. Later I might read comics while listening to 80's pop.
Janelle Monae is awesome, btw. If you get a chance, give her work a listen. Take note that much of her music incorporates afrofuturism and sci-fi and that there's a story about an android which goes along with it. It makes the music much more meaningful when you know that.
