Hey, anybody else wondering what was up with the carved dragon heads decorating the meeting hall in Hardhome?

ICE DRAGONS!! Actually, I don't know, I've watched this ep twice now and didn't notice those. Probably I was busy staring at Wun Wun (who I'm so glad made it onto the show finally)

Ooooh, I didn't notice the dragon heads. I'm hesitant to read anything into them, but that is interesting.

BTW, has anyone here gotten their hands on a copy of The World of Ice and Fire? I just got it last night and skimmed through it a bit. Really interesting so far

I saw this on Tumblr but don't have a source for the interview.

D&D wrote:“She was a guy originally, and then somewhere in the process we thought it might be cool if she were a mother, and show her sending off her own kids to make that moment with the corpse children really resonate emotionally…As the sequence was refined, she emerged as this clear representative of all the Wildlings, which was organic, and it made us care. Then we started casting and saw Birgitte’s work and she got the part.”

So basically, the part about the children being her downfall, only exists because she's a mother and wasn't part of the plan when they wanted a male character.

I'm eyerolling so hard now. Because being a mom is weak. I would like to think just the opposite.

Dammit, every time the writers or show runners open their mouths, another steaming pile of fail hits the floor.

I really love the books, but they can get a little convoluted. I think Aeryl said there is a method of reading them posted somewhere that helps. I read them by colorcoding arcs and reading them that way, otherwise would have gotten lost! I thought it was just me and my neuro-atypical brain misfunctioning, but apparently a lot of people have the same issues reading them.

It being convoluted was something I was actually worried about when first attempting to read the first book, so it wouldn't hurt to know easier method.

And just from a "fun" standpoint, I always like it when people suggest reading/watching things in a different more sensible order. Smile
